Spas, bars & slides: is this the world’s most luxurious waterpark?

There are waterparks – and then there’s Jungala, a new ’boutique aqua experience’.

Opened earlier this year, the luxe Mexican attraction is a waterpark like no other, with plenty on offer to satisfy visitors of all ages – including spa treatments, private cabanas and delicious dining options.

The park features a variety of slides and a 3,000 ft lazy river

Set in lush tropical surroundings, there are four main slides on the sprawling site, which kids and adults alike will love (some height restrictions apply).

Tropical Whizzard is a thrilling high-speed flume race, whilst Beachside Boomerango and Paradise Free Fall both feature near-vertical drops – perfect for adrenaline junkies.

Further thrills can be found on Hoop Hoop Aqua Loop, the first and only looping water slide.

Adding to the luxury experience, daily caps are in place to limit the number of visitors to the park – so you won’t be faced with endless queues or be forced to wait for hours to ride.

Other attractions include an adult-only spa pool, a quiet oasis away from the main attractions, plus the Brave Wave Pool.

If you prefer to take things easy, Jungala Aqua Experience also features the longest lazy river in Latin America, named the Lazy Rio. Measuring 3,000 feet, it features a host of swim-up bars and food huts along the way where you can grab a sophisticated snack or a cocktail.

Other eating options include the On The Waves snack hall, where dishes including fresh salads, ceviche and traditional tacos. There’s also a stand selling artisan hot dogs.

Younger visitors are catered to with a dedicated Kids Area. Here you’ll find the Aqua Play Rain Fortress, the largest interactive play structure in the world, featuring water cannons, spray fountains and chutes to blast through.

Escape to your own private cabana

For the ultimate experience, private cabanas are available for hire. Suitable for up to four adults and two children, each cabana comes complete with a bottle of champagne, chef-prepared canapés and a fruit platter.

Add a private cabana to your visit and you’ll also get access to an exclusive VIP area and luxury spa pools, plus  a 10% discount on all spa treatments.

Jungala Aqua Experience is just 45 minutes outside of Cancun in coastal town of Playa del Carmen. Away from the park, you can dive in the world’s longest underground river, Sac Actun, a 155km long river underneath Quintana Roo.

Whilst the kids play, adults can indulge in a relaxing spa treatment

Alternatively, descend into the depths at The Aktun Chen cavern. Dating back five million years, a guided tour will enthral you with mystical stories as you pass rock formations and crystal-clear waters.
