Finally, the trips in our Family Holidays section cater to travellers of all ages. No matter if you’re travelling with young children, with teenagers or as a couple, the destinations featured in this section will meet everyone’s needs – and make for memories that’ll last a lifetime.

Stephanie Wood, Editor

Stephanie is Editor of The Caribou. As a digital lifestyle journalist with over 12 years’ experience, she has worked for titles including Stylist, MSN and ASOS. She’s also a keen traveller who has visited 39 countries and counting.

Top three trips: India for the food, the people and that exhilarating ‘we’re-not-in-Kansas-anymore’ feeling; New Zealand for the jaw-dropping scenery and LOTR vibes; and California, USA for experiencing absolutely every type of terrain – from sunny beaches and flower-filled meadows to dusty deserts and snow-capped mountains – in a single state.

Last trip: A long weekend in Budapest with friends – the stunning architecture and riverside location make it the perfect walking city.

Next trip: A holiday of two halves in the US – a week in Florida taking in Miami and Key West, followed by a week in New England for some autumnal leaf-peeping.

Travel wish-list: White water rafting in Canada, camping in Wadi Rum and seeing Petra in Jordan, seeing the wildlife on safari in Namibia and Botswana.

Dominic Eddon, Head of Travel

Dominic is Head of Travel for The Caribou and TI Media’s other 40+ brands. He has worked across a number of media platforms and brands during his 25-year career, including Virgin Radio, EMAP, Express Newspapers, Readers Digest, Hearst and Family Traveller. Outside of work, he has a passion for travel and treasures downtime with his family.

Top three trips: Majorca for the food, family-friendly resorts and beautiful coastline (best appreciated from on-board a yacht), Sweden for the warm hospitality, magnificent woodlands and open spaces (I’m biased as my mother is Swedish), and Japan for the friendly culture, fun karaoke bars and cafes.

Last trip: Japan on a travel conference that just happened to correspond with the Rugby World Cup…

Next trip: Sälen in western Sweden for a family ski holiday.

Travel wish-list: India for the cultural sites and food (I’m a bit of a curry aficionado) and New Zealand for the adventure activities and to watch some rugby – nothing beats seeing the Haka performed in person.

Sarah Rafati, Digital Director

As Digital Director for TI Media’s Life & Style portfolio, Sarah works across a number of iconic brands and platforms, and is responsible for content and branding. She loves an itinerary which is packed with tips from locals and fellow travel junkies. Like the rest of the team, she is an avid traveller with no plans to stop.

Top three trips: Umbria for the food & wine, and above-the-clouds breathtaking landscape. It also makes for a tranquil road trip around many beautiful villages and towns. The Isle of Skye and Isle of Harris in Scotland for the stunning New Zealand-esque scenery and four seasons in one day – expect to see countless rainbows! It’s very remote, but full of adventure. And the Cook Islands – Aitutaki especially – for crystal white sand, turquoise lagoons and a tiny population of 2,000. Well worth the three flights it takes to get there…

Last trip: Sailing the Aegean coast in Turkey – the beautiful bays, history, stunning coastline – and not to mention the incredible food.

Next trip: Exploring dog-friendly hotels in Cornwall, and Cappadocia, Turkey to see the incredible dramatic scenery that I’ve dreamed of visiting for years.

Travel wish-list: As a travel enthusiast I’ve been lucky enough to visit many countries and cities, with no plans to stop! I recently discovered my DNA (via ancestry.com) spans over eastern and western Europe, with 42 per cent Persian heritage. So I’m aiming for ‘citizen of the world’ status, ticking as many off as possible and reporting back.
